The French School of Kuala Lumpur was founded in 1962.  The LFKL created in 1994 inaugurated its new building at the start of the 2005 school year. The building and equipment were designed to make the LFKL a modern establishment, suited to teaching, pleasant to be in and able to accommodate an increasing number of students. Under the guardianship of the Agency of French Education Overseas (AEFE), the LFKL is registered in Malaysia and overseen by an elected committee of parents with children in the school. Situated in the fast-developing area of Segambut (close proximity to Sri Hartamas and Mont Kiara), the LFKL is easily accessible. From pre-school to pre-university, LFKL dispenses excellent quality education to a majority of French speaking pupils. The teaching team is composed of qualified staff the majority of whom are certified teachers from the French National Educational System. LFKL respects the full French Curriculum defined by the French Ministry of Education. Small groups favour individualised teaching. Its academic programme and its exemplary results at the baccalaureat guarantees the LFKL students a good general knowledge background and the possibility to pursue their studies in the best schools of higher education and Universities in France and abroad.
