Since November, the “La BCD s’fait la malle” activity is offered to GS (3rd year) and MS (2nd year) nursery pupils who no longer take an afternoon nap, thus giving them access to books from the library on Tuesdays and Fridays from 12:00 to 12:30pm in a dedicated space in the school yard.
This activity has been supervised by voluntary pupils from 3 CM1 classes (in November and December) and will be taken over by the CE2 (in May and June).
Our primary pupils set up and clear the equipment (two carpets, the trunk containing the books), make sure that rules are observed within the reading area (under the ATSEMs’ [nursery assistants] supervision) and read a story or make books available for reading.
A lovely reading-related introduction activity led by older children for the youngest ones.
