1. Why did you choose the LFKL?

There are many good reasons why I chose the LFKL for my 3 children.  Being a second generation expatriate myself, I grew up going to a French school.  Hence, I have had firsthand experience of the system.  First and foremost, in the French system, you learn the French language, which is a pretty complex language to fully assimilate if you have not done some school years in French.  French is also an excellent basis to learn Spanish or Italian quite easily later in life.  One of the fears is that children going to the French school will “miss out on English”.  That might have been the case 30 years ago, but the LFKL today provides a very significant ratio of classes in English and the kids are perfectly comfortable in English.  In general, the academic level of the French system is very good.  The LFKL also offers a very convenient bus shuttle solution that picks the children up in the morning and drops them off safely at home after.<

2. Does your child enjoy being at the LFKL?

My kids love going to school.  They really enjoy it.  They have plenty of friends and after school activities.

3. Do you feel like your child is changing and growing in the LFKL? If so, How?

I was personally surprised by how good the kindergarten/maternelle levels were.  The amount of activities, problem solving and crafts the children were doing surprised me.  They definitely flourished once we moved them from our neighborhood nursery to the LFKL maternelle.  Really well planned programs, in a mix of French and English.

4. What is the most positive thing about the LFKL?

For my family the most positive thing about LFKL is that our children will have an excellent level of both French and English.  I do not feel we are sacrificing one language for the other.

5. Do you and your child have some special memories to share about the school, class and activity?

I remember fondly of the first time my wife and I went to pick our first daughter up on the school parking lot after her 4days field trip to Taman Negara.  It was her first time away from the family for so long.  It was a big step and she was so excited and had so many stories to tell when she returned.
